UNC Charlotte is positioning itself as the Charlotte region’s premier talent development partner. Through the Tuition Benefit Partnership (TBP) program, the University helps employers move beyond viewing tuition benefits as a recruitment and retention perk and instead use it as a strategic tool for organizational growth.
The TBP ecosystem now includes 4 formal partners, 18 collaborators, and a broader network of 220 companies listed as tuition benefit providers on UNC Charlotte’s portal. More than 1,900 students are currently using employer tuition benefits to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees across the University.
By reducing financial friction through tuition assistance, direct billing and customized support—including company-specific landing pages and dedicated advising—TBP makes employee upskilling more accessible, navigable, and aligned with employer needs.
In addition to helping their employees achieve degrees, partners also receive value through a 15% discount on select professional development, corporate training, and executive education opportunities. Together, these efforts strengthen UNC Charlotte’s role in aligning academic programs with evolving occupational demand, helping ensure the region’s workforce is prepared for the future work in the Charlotte region and beyond.
